(2)Charity Themes and 14 Charitable Organizations

After the Osaka Marathon 2014, we expanded the scope of public participation in the event as a charitable organization in purple, which previously only included one organization, and a new organization was selected by this committee. As we decided to maintain the existing 13 organization from the 2014 race to the 2015 event, we undertook charity programs with a total of 14 organizations, namely two for each charity theme color. An organization marked with (*) is a newcomer.

General participant runners offered donations of two units or more per person (@500 yen x 2 =1,000 yen) by selecting their choice of charity theme from the seven available colors at the time of entry.

(6)New Approach for the Osaka Marathon 2015

For the 2015 Race charity program, we conducted a new approach, focusing on the two points of
1. strongly enhancing awareness of the theme color donated at the time of entry and
2. increasing opportunities to interact between charitable organizations and runners.

Nanairo (Rainbow Color) Team Competition
This is a team competition divided into seven teams by color that the runners selected from their choice of charity theme color, competing the best average time among all finishers. Five hundred runners selected in a drawing among the finishers of the winning team were given berth placed for the Osaka Marathon 2016. As well as participating in the competition, this could help participants reconfirm which theme color they chose to donate.

Mr. Jimmy Onishi's original painting, "RUN"
Mr. Jimmy Onishi, who became a charity ambassador for the Osaka Marathon 2015, produced art work inspired by the event.
Posters featuring his painting were produced, which were posted at city halls and train stations in Osaka prefecture.
<Comment from Mr. Jimmy Onishi>
I delineated the image of a runner advancing toward a rainbow; having many images of the city of Osaka in mind, including its history and beautiful landscape such as Osaka Castle, the modern architecture of the Osaka City Central Public Hall, Yodoyabashi, Tsutenkaku and the roses of Nakanoshima Park that will be full bloom in autumn. I also kept in mind the charity colors of the event and more than 30,000 runners in rainbow-colored caps.
I am looking forward to running the race as a charity ambassador, as well as having the opportunity to exhibit my original work, drawn specially for this event.
