The Organization for Industrial, Spiritual and Cultural Advancement-International (Public Interest Incorporated Foundation)

OISCA is international non-governmental organization founded in 1961. Equipped with over five decades of working experience at grassroots level, we launched the Coastal Forest Restoration Project shortly after the Great East Japan Earthquake. We are engaged in helping restore the coastal forest, as well as prompting employment for earthquake-affected farmers in collaboration with donors and volunteers from all over Japan as well as the local government and residents.

Donations will be used in restoring the 100 hectare coastal forest in Natori city, Miyagi prefecture lost by tsunami by raising seedling and planting 500,000 black pine trees; providing support for living expenses and jobs for over 11,000 earthquake-affected farmers; and silvicultural activities which will be continued until 2033.

We are a volunteer organization launched in Harajuku, Tokyo in 2002, focusing on litter pickup activities around town.
Wide-ranging individuals of all ages including industrial firms participate and there are currently a total of around 90 teams in Japan and abroad. We strive to globally convey a litter pickup culture which is unique to Japan and bequeath the same to younger generations.

We would like use your donations to fund expenses for cleaning activities by existing nine teams in the Kansai region; i.e. bibs, garbage bag production costs, purchase costs for tongs, bulk waste treatment fees and equipment maintenance fees, etc. and the costs needed to establish new teams, both domestically and abroad.

In today’s world, 844 million people lack access to safe water and 2.3 billion people lack access to an appropriate toilet. WaterAid Japan is striving to create a world where all people everywhere can use clean water and sanitation by 2030.
[ How donations funded by the Osaka Marathon are used ]
About 800 children die daily due to using only unsanitary water and without access to adequate sanitation. We would like to use your donations carefully to deliver water and toilet facilities to people living in the thirty-four nations where WaterAid Japan is in active.

We engage in activities to reconnect man with nature ranging from environmental conservation activities in urban areas, farming and fishing villages to fostering human resources for environmental conservation. In Osaka, we operate Osaka Rangers’ Project where younger generations can casually participate in volunteer activities.

We would like to use your donations to operate Osaka Rangers’ Project (http://rangersproject.jp/project/osaka/) supporting regional environmental conservation activities to preserve nature in Osaka for the future, striving to conduct sustained operation through fostering young volunteers as well as conducting more field work.

We are the Osaka based organization, having been striving to resolve various issues related to working with the goal of achieving a society where anyone can work and live by their own values since 2007. We tackle to break the cycle of poverty linking to the children who will bear the next generation by providing youth support, which has not been spoken out as an urgent matter.

1) We would like to use your donations for the development costs of DIY program kits for our employment support project, “MODEL HOUSE” utilizing an unoccupied municipal housing to help youngsters who are being unemployed or repeatedly having instable work achieve living and remaining in work in Osaka.
2) We will use them for developing support model where the whole community helps youngsters utilizing cafes and shops in town.

We provide various support, including livelihood support for disabled children and adults in the local community, study support for developmentally disabled individuals and students unwilling to go to school and employment support for young people, etc. Currently, we are also tackling child poverty and seeking a solution to cope with complicated social issues, while collaborating with various organizations.

“Delivering all children the moment of being a child”
Wishing to deliver the “moment of being a child” for children who are hospitalized. Based on this aspiration, we provide a program dispatching CliniClowns to children’s wards of hospitals throughout Japan from Osaka and fostering children’s zest for living through play and involvement with children.

We would like to use your donations for our CliniClowns dispatching operations, where CliniClowns visit children’s ward on a regular basis and lecture presentations and charity events to achieve a society where all children can be themselves and anyone can smile through “Red Nose”, a training program to foster new CliniClowns.

Aspiring to realize “a society allowing parents to continue working after childbirth without much surprise”, Nobel was established in 2009 as the first mutual aid project offering a home-visit day care service for sick children, which dispatches nursing care staff to children’s homes whenever needed and without fail, even for same-day requests in the Kansai region. We have been expanding our support toward the goal of establishing a safety net which anyone requiring day care service for sick children can use.

We will provide a day care service for sick children which is user-friendly to all, including special programs providing our service at 1,000 yen per month, which is about 1/6 of the ordinary rate, for single-parent families with annual income below 3 million yen and providing a day care service for disabled children which require more manpower and there are far outnumbered who provide services than usual at the normal rate.

The TSURUMI Children’s Hospice (TCH), Japan’s first community-based hospice for children, opened in spring 2016 in Tsurumi ward, Osaka. Whatever illness its children may have, they value enjoying the same experience as their peers of the same generation and every moment spent there. The TCH is a second home for children with life-threatening diseases and their families, who support them to enhance their quality of life.

We would like to use your donations to improve programs at the TSURUMI Children’s Hospice as well as implementing our programs at the hospital or their homes suitable for individual child when his/her condition has worsened. We will also prepare a space of “Asobi Souzou Hiroba”, where the TSURUMI Children’s Hospice lies as a playground where all children can play with peace of mind.

Save the Children is a non-governmental organization specializing in supporting children in 120 nations worldwide including Japan. Since its foundation, we have been supporting the present and the future of children in wide-ranging areas including health and nutrition, education and emergency and humanitarian support over 100 years since its foundation in 1919.

We would like to use your donations to support children under emergency situation affected by natural disasters and conflicts. We will use them for emergency and humanitarian support including providing emergency relief goods such as water and food, operating Child Friendly Space where children under emergency situation can stay safely with peace of mind and educational support both domestically and abroad.

As the Japan affiliate of the Cancer Support Community – the largest international non-profit organization dedicated to providing support to people affected by cancer – we have been engaged in activities in the Kanto region since 2001 and the Kansai region since 2013, providing psychosocial support for people with cancer and their loved ones from professions such as clinical psychotherapists, social workers and nurses in their local communities.

We would like to use your donations to fund efforts to provide professional led psychosocial support for people with cancer, fostering professionals for psychosocial support, as well as broadly educating people about cancer prevention in the Kansai region, aiming to prevent cancer and create a society where people can retain their quality of life, even if developing the condition.

Many children in developing countries are unable to access high-quality education in urban areas and give up on their dreams. We create videos of classes taught by the best teachers of urban areas, which we then deliver to those children as ideal lessons to support their dreams.

We would like to use your donations for equipment used at schools for video lessons, on-site transportation costs, video production costs, labor costs including local teachers and staff, travel expenses and training costs for teachers to deliver video lessons to high school students in developing countries, including Bangladesh.

To achieve a society where children affected by AIDS can pave the way forward for their future, we support families with children having lost their parents from AIDS by providing a better livelihood and life-planning projects in Kenya and Uganda.

(1) Support to improve the livelihood of families with children having lost their parents from AIDS and (2) life planning support to them.
As for the better livelihood project, we provide education in initial investment and hands-on training for small businesses such as farming and how to run a café, while the life planning support project is intended to provide career counselling to such children and their guardians.

Osakafu Ikueikai was established in 1952 and provides student loan programs to help high school students who find going to school difficult for economic reasons. To date, we have assisted around 500,000 students via student loans with a total of 223 billion yen and since 2014, we have also introduced Yume Mirai Scholarship Program grants, which need not be repaid.

We would like to use your donations to help fund Yume Mirai Scholarships to support high school students who find few opportunities to study otherwise due to financial difficulties yet still work very hard, exploiting their strengths for their future.

We have been helping people in pain and despairing such that they wish to end their lives by providing telephone counseling over 41 years since 1978. We also organize gatherings for bereaved families having lost their loved ones through suicide to share their bitter thoughts with peace of mind.

We would like to use your donations for public relations activities to inform as many people as possible of our telephone counseling service and help as many as possible get in touch via telephone as well as educational activities to help prevent them committing suicide. We also consider spending money on restarting counseling service via SNS to prevent suicide by youngsters.

We work to solve problems of pediatric cancer, striving so that children with cancer can live with smiles and peace of mind. Our activities are based on three pillars of support to improve the livelihood of children who once had pediatric cancer, provide therapy research grants and information and promote understanding.

Many people who once had pediatric cancer suffer from late complications following treatment. We would like to use your donations to fund scholarships which need not be repaid to help such pediatric cancer survivors go to college and realize their dreams. We will also use them to subsidize therapy research for patients to overcome the disease.

Japan Heart is an international volunteer healthcare organization which was established in Japan in 2004. Centering on a basic philosophy of “delivering healthcare to medically-isolated areas,” we are an authorized NPO, dispatching Japanese healthcare professionals and providing medical treatment free of charge to developing countries in Asia.

We would like to use your donations to cover the costs of surgery and treatment for patients requiring healthcare in Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos, particularly for medical activities, i.e. medical examinations, prescription charges, costs for surgery and medical supplies at the Japan Heart Pediatric Medical Center, which opened in June 2018 in Cambodia.

Shapla Neer is a Japanese NGO providing international cooperation established in 1972. We support those left behind by the various systems and schemes of society and strive to resolve poverty issues in South Asia.

We would like to use your donations to support girls engaging in child labor. They will be used to cover the operating expenses of our support center that helps girls working as domestic servants at other people’s houses and production costs for radio programs reporting on the circumstances of domestic servants in Bangladesh, as well as covering the costs of holding lecture meetings in Japan.

We want to save the lives of small children by vaccinating them.
One child dies every twenty seconds due to a global lack of vaccines.
We are a private international support organization; striving to help protect children’s future by delivering vaccines to developing countries.

We will supply vaccines and related equipment to children in the four countries with continuous support, Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, the Kingdom of Bhutan and the Republic of Vanuatu, following requests from the health department of each country and in collaboration with their UNICEF secretariat.

There are thought to be around two million youngsters keen to work but unable to do so. We support their efforts to obtain work and remain in work, as well as connect with society. We consider this a social investment to reduce our future social welfare costs.

We provide youngsters who find it difficult to work and find themselves in economic poverty with a job training program free of charge. We would like to use your donations to also cover transportation costs for those who visit our premises for job training so that they can do so without concerns over the cost.

Our organization is Osaka-based; striving to ease the pain and anxiety of patients fighting cancer. As part of our health recovery support program, we organize running sessions with cancer patients. We implemented the first note-taking service using a PC in the Paralympic Games in Nagano in 1998 and following the invention of the iPhone, worked with industry and academia to develop a remote note-taking system, allowing us to provide a remote note-taking service at 60 schools in 29 prefectures nationwide. We also engaged in providing information online when the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred and strive to utilize cutting-edge systems, e.g. for voice recognition. As our new effort, we support the efforts of hearing-impaired and local able-bodied children to connect by collaborating with an organization striving to provide sports experience opportunities involving hearing-impaired persons and their families.

We would like to use your donations to create opportunities for hearing-impaired children to participate in sports activities which may otherwise be difficult for them to join locally, covering the costs of PR, use of the venue and a PC note-taking service using a voice-recognition system.
