About Abbott World Marathon Majors
The Abbott World Marathon Majors (AbbottWMM) is the world’s premier marathon series, consisting of eight races: the Tokyo, Boston, London, Cape Town, Sydney, Berlin, Chicago, and New York City Marathons.
AbbottWMM runs an annual series featuring the world’s top elite athletes, while also offering a variety of programs that celebrate the challenges and achievements of mass-participation runners around the world. As an organization leading the global marathon community, AbbottWMM is building a global running community that connects many people, from top athletes to general runners, through the marathon.
Age Group World Rankings
Runners aged 40 and over will have their fastest times recorded in the AbbottWMM MTT Age Group World Rankings (comprising more than 370 races worldwide, including the Osaka Marathon) reflected in the age group rankings.
The rankings can be viewed at AbbottWMM.com.
Age Group World Championships
This race is covered by the AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Rankings, which is a qualifier for the AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Championships. Therefore, race results (names, date of birth, genders, nationalities, and records) are provided to World Marathon Majors LLC, a U.S.-based company that manages the Abbott World Marathon Majors.
Runners who qualify to participate in the AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Championships will receive a notification to that effect from World Marathon Majors LLC.
To receive this notification, please agree to provide your email address to AbbottWMM at the time of registration.
Top-ranked athletes in each age group at the end of the 2026 season will be invited to the 2027 AbbottWMM MTT Age Group World Championships. Even athletes who do not meet the Qualifying Time for their age group may be invited depending on the number of participants and qualifiers.
2027 race's location and date will be announced by the end of 2026.
