About the Partnership with the Bank of America Chicago Marathon

Since its first race, Osaka Marathon has partnered with the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, one of the Abbott World Marathon Majors.

Through initiatives such as the mutual exchange of local representative runners, the two races work together toward their continued development.

Main Partnership Activities

  • One male and one female Osaka Marathon representative runner residing in Osaka Prefecture are sent to the Bank of America Chicago Marathon in the same year.
  • One male and one female Bank of America Chicago Marathon representative runner residing in Illinois are welcomed to Osaka Marathon in the following year.
  • Mutual placement of advertisements in each race program

Sunday, February 22, 2026 Osaka Marathon 2026 Awards Ceremony

A “Chicago Marathon Award” certificate was presented to the top male and female runners residing in Osaka Prefecture at Osaka Marathon 2026. The two runners will be sent to the Chicago Marathon in October.
