Osaka Sports Supporting Runners

  • AThis system grants the right to run in Osaka Marathon 2024 to the first 800 persons (400 persons from Osaka Prefecture, 400 persons from Osaka City) who donated at least 100,000 yen to the Namihaya Sports Promotion Fund (Osaka Prefecture) or the Osaka City Sports Promotion Fund (Osaka City) within the solicitation period through the Furusato Nozei Program (a charitable donation to a municipality of one's choice), or to persons who were designated by such a donor.
    A separate entry fee and other fees are required.

  • AWhile a donor can designate a runner, the designated runner cannot transfer the right to run.

Civic athletes

  • A Entries are decided on a first-come, first-served basis for persons who have recorded a time within the standard time that is set for each age group and gender (original times set by the Osaka Marathon).

Charity runners

  • A Charity runners participate for the purpose of broadening understanding of the Osaka Marathon charity activities and expanding the range of support.

  • A A charity runner can enter when he/she has personally donated 1,000 yen to a charitable organization (one organization selected from the charity partners) and has also collected at least 69,000 yen in donations through fundraising efforts.

  • A If the total donation amount does not reach the minimum donation amount (70,000 yen including the 1,000 yen donated personally by the charity runner), the charity runner must donate the missing amount of money himself/herself.
    The amount missing from the minimum donation amount (70,000 yen including the 1,000 yen donated personally by the charity runner) will be automatically contributed from the credit card that was registered on the fundraising site (website for soliciting donations to charitable organizations).
    If you are unable to pay the missing amount, you will not be able to participate in the race.
    Please be aware that even if you are unable to participate in the race, the entry fee and the donations previously contributed will not be refunded.

  • A Information will be provided after the conclusion of the fundraising period (5:00 p.m. on January 24, 2024 (Wednesday) or later). We expect to provide this information one to two weeks before the race.

Runners with disabilities

  • A This entry method is available to persons who have one of the following certificates: physical disability certificate, mental disability certificate, or rehabilitation certificate. (Maximum number of participants: 50)

Osaka Marathon My Page

  • A Due to website renovation, you are no longer able to view the Osaka Marathon My Page data.

  • A Beginning from Osaka Marathon 2024, domestic entries have been changed to Runnet, and overseas entries have been changed to JTBSports Station.
    Please register as a member on Runnet or JTBSports Station and complete your entry.

  • A You must register as a Runnet member in order to download the record certificates for Osaka Marathon 2019 through Osaka Marathon 2023.

Runner registration

    Also, note that registration (provision of athlete bibs (number cards)) will not be accepted on the day of the event.

  • A To prevent terrorism (intrusion by suspicious persons) and proxy running, we need all runners to wear a security band after our staff members confirm the runners’ identities. We would appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
    Please continue to wear the security band until the day of the event.
    Note that if it cannot be confirmed that you are wearing the band at the time of entering the starting area, you will not be allowed to run the race.

  • A Present your Social Security card, voter registration card, Selective Service (draft) card, Medicare or other health cards, or similar photo IDs issued by your company (employee ID), student ID, or credit card.

  • A We recommend the following stations.
    Get off at Cosmosquare Station, Osaka Metro Chuo Line (approx. a 9-minute walk from Exit 3 or 4)
    Get off at Trade Center-mae Station, Osaka Metro New Tram (approx. an 8-minute walk from Exit 1)
    Get off at Nakafuto Station, Osaka Metro New Tram (approx. a 5-minute walk from Exit 3)

Event operation

  • A The event will take place even if it rains, but it might be canceled if it is difficult to operate the event due to a storm or other extreme weather conditions.

  • A If the event is canceled, the cancellation will be posted on the official website as soon as possible after the decision has been made.
    Please check the official website in the morning on the day of the event to see whether the event will take place or not. (We plan to post the decision at 5:00 a.m.)

  • A To relieve congestion and protect safety, a wave (corral) start will be used.
    A wave-start schedule and waiting blocks will be set up according to the certified time on the record certificate (personal best time) submitted at the time of application, regardless of whether or not you have JAAF membership. Those who have not specified both a certified time on the record certificate and an estimated finish time will start from the rearmost block of the last wave.
    Please note that starting from a point ahead of your set wave will result in disqualification. The Challenge Run shall start from Wave 3.

    • Those who have a personal best time (gross time or net time) (The time must be recorded at a confirmable race held in or after April 2019. If it is found to be a false report, the entry will be canceled.)

    • Those who reported neither a personal best time nor an estimated finish time
  • A Volunteers who can communicate in sign language will be stationed at the general information desk of INTEX Osaka at the time of runner registration and at the general information desk of each of the start and finishing areas (Osaka Castle Park) on the day of the event.
    Other staff will communicate through writing.

  • A Traffic restrictions are planned to be placed only on the day of the event.

  • A Yes. We will set up changing spaces and changing tents at the venue.

  • A No delivery service will be arranged. For large baggage, please use your hotel's baggage check-in service or use a delivery service at a convenience store.

  • A In the event that the Japanese government, Osaka Prefecture, the Japan Sport Association, the Japan Association of Athletics Federations, or other applicable body issues policies or guidelines regarding countermeasures against infectious diseases, appropriate measures will be taken in accordance with those policies or guidelines.

Entry fee, etc.

  • A You cannot transfer your right to participate to anyone. If proxy running is discovered, you and your proxy will be disqualified.
    In that case, the event organizing body will not make any compensation. Also note that even if you notify us before the event that you cannot participate, no refund will be made for any personal reason once you have made the payment to us.
    Donations will also not be refunded for any reason.

    If the safe operation of the race is judged to be difficult due to an earthquake, storm, flood, or any other natural disaster; the spread of an infectious disease; accident requiring a police or fire department response; etc., the race will be canceled. The amount of refund of the entry fee, etc. in the case of race cancellation will be determined after deducting the expenses incurred before the cancellation decision was made.

  • A The organizer will not issue any receipts for the entry fee and other charges.
    Please use your credit card statement or bill issued by a credit card company as your receipt.
    In the case of payment at a convenience store, use the copy of the payment slip as the receipt.
    Please note that those who enter the event through Runnet can obtain a receipt from My Page on Runnet.

  • A The organizer will only provide first aid in the event of an accident during the race. Except in the case of gross negligence by the organizer, compensation will be within the range of the engaged accident insurance (solatium payment).

  • A The amount of refund of the entry fee, etc. in the case of race cancellation will be determined after deducting the expenses incurred before the cancellation decision was made.
    For the right to participate in the next event and the shipment of the participation prize, decisions will be made according to the timing of the cancellation.
