OISCA was established in 1961 as an overseas cooperation NGO. Drawing on over 60 years of overseas experience in community development, OISCA launched the "Coastal Forest Restoration Project" in Natori City, Miyagi Prefecture, in the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake. Working alongside local government officials, community residents, and donors and volunteers from across Japan, OISCA is dedicated to restoring coastal disaster-prevention forests.

How Donations from the Osaka Marathon Will Be Used

Donation will be used for the "Coastal Forest Restoration Project" in Natori City, Miyagi Prefecture to restore the coastal forests lost during the disaster. Targeting about 100 hectares of coastal forest with 370,000 Japanese black pines planted, we will continue the silvicultural work including weeding, invasive species control, and thinning. Also, we are establishing coastal disaster-prevention forests that not only mitigate damage from tsunamis and strong winds but also protect the community from windblown sand and salt spray.

For 25 years since our establishment, we have been aiming to create a society in which people can live true to themselves even after a cancer diagnosis and do not have to face cancer alone. In Tokyo, Osaka, Chiba, and Yamanashi, we provide free emotional support, delivered by experts in medicine, social welfare, clinical psychology and other to 2,000 cancer patients and family members annually. In addition, we are also working to improve the circumstances surrounding cancer patients by publishing the White Paper on Cancer Control, taking part in drawing up the Fourth Term of the Basic Plan to Promote Cancer Control, and other. In 2024, we have received the Health Culture Award.

How Donations from the Osaka Marathon Will Be Used

Moving toward the realization of a society based on community coexistence and value creation in Osaka, where nobody faces cancer alone, we are engaging in: (A) provision of emotional support to cancer patients living in Osaka, including free support groups for sharing experience and seminars to raise awareness of and improve knowledge about cancer; (B) creation of opportunities for medical professionals in Osaka to consider the nature of patient support and inter-facility collaboration; (C) development of public awareness campaigns for Osaka residents on cancer prevention and screening; (D) collaboration with other organizations in Osaka to develop new support initiatives for cancer patients, including those in the AYA (Adolescent and Young Adult) generation.

As a leading institution for iPS cell research in Japan, we are dedicated to delivering new medical treatment through the utilization of iPS cells to patients suffering from disease and injury, covering the entire spectrum from basic research to the practical application of new therapies. Specifically, we conduct research on cancer, diabetes, heart disease, blood disorders, Parkinson's disease, ALS, muscular dystrophy, Alzheimer's disease, and other. Our work focuses on regenerative medicine with an aim to restore the function of damaged body tissues, as well as elucidating disease mechanisms and developing new medicines.

As an international NGO striving for “world free from hunger where people live together in harmony”, we provide humanitarian and development aid both in Japan and overseas. We currently operate 17 projects in partnership with local organizations across 10 countries in Japan, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. These projects deliver a wide range of support such as education, healthcare, water and sanitation, livelihood, and emotional support. We also have a system in place capable of responding swiftly to emergencies.

How Donations from the Osaka Marathon Will Be Used

Donations received at the Osaka Marathon will be used to support peacebuilding initiatives, empowering people living in conflict zones and poverty to “build peace through their own efforts.” For example, your contributions will be carefully used for activities promoting peace and health in Ethiopia, vocational training for women affected by the conflict in Ukraine, and psychosocial care and educational support for children in Gaza. Through these efforts, we hope to build a rainbow of peace stretching from Osaka to the world, together with all of you.

Guided by the concept of “Befriending = be+friending,” we strive to become friends, and also accept their feelings of wanting to die just as they are while offering emotional support. Since our establishment in 1978, we have conducted various activities over the past 48 years, such as telephone counseling and gatherings for bereaved families. In recent years, we have established online platforms such as chat counseling and online message boards, aiming to offer emotional support to those suffering in isolation.

How Donations from the Osaka Marathon Will Be Used

Recognizing the alarming situation of youth suicide, we are planning to develop a suicide prevention training program in collaboration with universities as a countermeasure. The donation will be used to cover its development cost (600,000 JPY). We also plan to allocate some funds toward the initial cost of an AI-based counselling service for suicide prevention (2,000,000 JPY).

We are a certified NPO active since October 2011, driven by the vision of "Building a future where the grief caused by disasters is never repeated." Rikuzentakata City in Iwate Prefecture suffered catastrophic damage from the tsunami triggered by the Great East Japan Earthquake. The tsunami's reach extended across a span of 170 kilometers. To minimize damage should a similar disaster occur again, we plant and take care of cherry trees along the tsunami reach points, thereby passing on vital lessons to future generations.

How Donations from the Osaka Marathon Will Be Used

Donations will be used for our cherry tree planting initiatives. We will use your donations to cover the costs of organizing and managing planting events, held twice a year (in spring and autumn) with participants from across Japan, as well as school-based planting events. For example, donations will be allocated to purchase tree planting materials such as cherry saplings, soil, and fertilizer. Additionally, they will be used for maintenance and care to protect the trees from pests, diseases, and wildlife damage after planting.

JOICFP is a Japan-based overseas cooperation NGO working to protect the lives and health of women around the world. Drawing on Japan’s experience in improving maternal and child health, particularly through "prevention" and "character building", the JOICFP aims to realize the world envisioned by SDGs, in which “no one is left behind.” While working to reduce maternal mortality and promote sexual and reproductive health / rights (SRHR), the JOICFP efforts focus primarily on Asia and Africa.

We promote SRHR (sexual and reproductive health and rights) both domestically and overseas. Overseas (in Africa and Asia), we allocate resources to awareness-raising for gender-based violence prevention, the implementation of comprehensive sexual education, and the training of grassroots supporters to lead local advocacy. Domestically, JOICFP conducts SRHR awareness programs and events for youth to complement public education, empowering them to make life choices that are true to themselves. Furthermore, JOICFP simultaneously conducts awareness-raising activities to provide accurate information to the parents and guardians of these young people.

Since our founding in 1994, we have been driven by the desire to “Help the lives of children who could be saved by vaccines.” We are a private international aid organization dedicated to our “Children’s Vaccine Support” initiative, donating vaccines to developing countries.

In our 4 partner countries - Myanmar, Laos, Bhutan, and Vanuatu -, we deliver vaccines for polio, measles, tuberculosis (BCG), etc., and related equipment through our initiative to help the lives of children who could be saved by vaccines. For example, a donation of 70,000 JPY allows us to provide polio vaccines to approximately 3,500 children.

With the mission of "Connecting youth with society," we support youth in social isolation, including those experiencing hikikomori, NEET status and other. In the Kansai area, it operates a support hub in Umeda, where it offers work experience programs (internship) for young people, career counseling, and in-school cafes for high school students. In addition to meeting around 2,000 young people and their families nationwide each year and providing social and economic support, this certified NPO also runs learning support programs for school-age children and outreach programs for high schools.

How Donations from the Osaka Marathon Will Be Used

Donations will be used primarily to support the operation of a drop-in space program conducted mainly in Osaka City. The program is intended to provide a place where high school-age young people can feel comfortable dropping by, feel safe, have a meal, and enjoy recreation and casual conversation, with the aim of reducing isolation and loneliness, and around 100 participants are expected each year. They will also be used to build networks with local companies, support organizations, and others so that the challenges faced by young people using the space can be addressed.

This is the site where food support packages are prepared for shipment. A system is in place to quickly provide food support to young people facing difficult circumstances.

Organization Profile

Our organization provides a safety net and opportunities for young people facing a range of difficult circumstances, including economic hardship, school dropout, and abuse. We reach out to young people in entertainment districts and through LINE consultations, helping them build relationships with people they can turn to when they need support. To help fill gaps that are difficult for public institutions alone to address, we build a community-based safety net, connect young people with a wide range of opportunities involving people, companies, and local communities, and create opportunities that do not yet exist in society.

How Donations from the Osaka Marathon Will Be Used

Funds will be used to provide meals at the youth center in Minami, Osaka, which serves approximately 5,000 young people each year. They will also support financial assistance for medical expenses when accompanying young people to hospitals, as well as staff costs for counseling and accompaniment services. The funds will also be used to cover counselor staffing costs for the LINE consultation service, "Yukisaki Chat," as well as to provide food and daily necessities. Through this, we will provide a safe environment for more young people and support their daily lives.

TABLE FOR TWO literally means a table for two people. Based on the concept of sharing meals between people in developed countries and children in developing countries, part of the cost of a healthy meal is donated to provide school meals for children around the world. With the participation of around 700 organizations, the program has provided a total of 120 million meals to date, mainly in five countries in East Africa and Southeast Asia: Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, and the Philippines.

How Donations from the Osaka Marathon Will Be Used

Donations will be used to fund school meal support programs in East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda) and the Philippines. They will be used to purchase ingredients for school meals and fuel needed for cooking, while part of the labor costs related to meal preparation is borne by parents and local communities. As an organization dedicated to combating obesity and hunger, we focus heavily on promoting health within Japan. Donations will be used to fund domestic awareness campaigns and cover administrative operating costs.

Organization Profile

NPO Together builds bridges between people with disabilities and society while promoting their independence and social participation. Its activities are built on three pillars: sales support, awareness-raising activities, and living environment coordination. Together operates a shop that sells products made by welfare service providers, proposes novelty items to companies, and holds in-house sales events at companies, with the aim of increasing the income of people with disabilities. It also carries out awareness-raising activities to help more people learn about welfare for people with disabilities, and provides support for the construction of group homes to help people transition to community-based living.

How Donations from the Osaka Marathon Will Be Used

The funds will be used to create employment opportunities for people with disabilities and help increase their income. The organization also hopes to develop Osaka souvenirs and new products in collaboration with welfare service providers in Osaka. If sufficient donations are received, the organization plans to build a network with local governments and welfare service providers across Osaka Prefecture and host an Osaka Marathon Thank-You Marche featuring products made by these providers.

Operation of Ronald McDonald Houses for sick children and their families

To bring smiles to the faces of hospitalized children, we distributed stationery and amenities on a Heartful Cart at the pediatric ward of the National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center. (This was part of the Share Heart for Sick Kids Project.)

At the Osaka Marathon 2026, we cheered along the course together with volunteers, foundation staff, and members of McDonald's Japan, helping to raise awareness of our Houses.

We operate Ronald McDonald Houses—accommodation facilities for sick children hospitalized or receiving outpatient care far from home, as well as their accompanying families. We also run the “Share Heart for Sick Kids” project, which aims to improve the QOL of these children and bring smiles to their faces. Our foundation contributes to building a system that supports healthcare in local communities and to fostering a culture of volunteering.

AAR Japan is a UN-recognized international NGO founded in Japan in 1979. Since its establishment, AAR Japan has expanded its areas and fields of activity without bias toward any particular political, ideological, or religious position, providing support in more than 65 countries and regions. Today, AAR Japan operates in 17 countries around the world, including Japan. AAR Japan places importance on providing support from a long-term perspective to people who are in especially vulnerable situations due to conflict, disasters, disabilities, and other circumstances.

Donations received through the Osaka Marathon will be used for the humanitarian assistance activities carried out by AAR Japan in Japan and overseas. As needs for assistance become more diverse due to prolonged conflicts, disasters, and humanitarian crises, AAR Japan will use the donations for carefully tailored support activities that take into account people who are more likely to be left behind, such as persons with disabilities and older people, as well as each individual’s circumstances and the realities of each local community.

In the hope of advancing research to eradicate the incurable disease "type 1 diabetes," we presented the 2nd Kazuhiko Yamada Award to Shimon Sakaguchi, Distinguished Professor of Experimental Immunology at the Immunology Frontier Research Center, Osaka University, who won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.

Organization Profile

Japan IDDM Network is an organization that supports people who require insulin supplementation, including those with type 1 diabetes, and their families. Following the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake in 1995, Japan IDDM Network was established to connect patients and families across Japan, and to help resolve the social issues surrounding this disease. Its main activities include providing accurate information to patients and families, submitting policy requests to improve treatment environments and medical and welfare support systems, offering treatment-related consultations, raising public awareness, and supporting research aimed at eradicating type 1 diabetes.

The donations will be used to provide research grants to researchers taking on the challenge of eradicating type 1 diabetes, an incurable disease, through treatment, cure, and prevention. - Treatment: Research that improves current treatments, reduces the physical burden on patients, and enhances quality of life. - Cure: Research that eliminates the need for insulin supplementation and restores pre-disease health. - Prevention: Research that aims to prevent type 1 diabetes, eliminating the roughly 1,000 new cases diagnosed each year in Japan

Nippon Asia Baseball Friends CLUB LALIGURANS engages in international exchange activities through sports and culture with people in Japan and Asian regions such as Nepal. Nippon International Cooperation for Community Development (NICCO) is an international cooperation NGO working toward a peaceful world free from poverty and conflict. Founded in Kyoto in 1979, NICCO has carried out a wide range of activities in 26 countries and regions around the world, including Japan. NICCO has now relocated its base to Takatsuki City, Osaka, and continues its activities with the hope of bringing even a little hope to people who have been displaced from their homes by conflict or disasters, people struggling to live in poverty, and others in need of support.

How Donations from the Osaka Marathon Will Be Used

The donations received will be used with great care for NICCO’s activities in all the regions where it works, including emergency assistance for Ukraine and support for self-reliance in rural Malawi. For example, a donation of 2,000 JPY can provide one tarpaulin sheet to a disaster-affected area in Myanmar. A donation of 30,000 JPY can build one toilet that helps improve sanitation and income for a farming household in Malawi. A donation of 50,000 JPY can provide three sets of educational toys to a medical facility in Ukraine.

At the Japan Disaster Relief Volunteer Network, we base our activities on staying close to people affected by disasters, supporting the life and daily living of each individual, and never overlooking anyone, even if it is just one person. In addition to emergency relief activities, we are involved in medium- to long-term recovery support activities and disaster-resilient community development directly connected to those efforts in communities across Japan.

How Donations from the Osaka Marathon Will Be Used

The donations will be used to cover part of the travel and transportation expenses for staff and volunteers needed to reach disaster-affected areas, as well as the cost of purchasing consumable supplies used for exchange activities and other activities on site. In normal times, we would like to use the donations for operating costs and personnel expenses for disaster preparedness awareness activities, such as disaster preparedness events and seminars, including NVNAD Seminars, Machigoto Disaster Preparedness Seminars, and Disaster Preparedness Outreach Cafes (tentative name).

Piece of Syria is an international cooperation NGO born in Osaka that provides educational support in Syria and works to preserve Syrian culture for the future, with the goal of “making Syria a country people want to visit again.” Before the war began in 2011, Syria was an even more popular tourist destination than Japan. By sharing the appeal of Syria, we aim to make it “a country people want to visit.” In Syria, where more than half of the population has been displaced, we aim to make Syria “a country people can visit” by providing education and mental health care to children, who will form the foundation for reconstruction and peacebuilding.

How Donations from the Osaka Marathon Will Be Used

The donations will be used to cover the operating costs of a supplementary school that children of returnee families can attend free of charge. In Syria, even after the war, 90% of the population continues to live below the poverty line. The school will accept 400 children from returnee families who have been unable to receive an education due to hardship in their daily lives, and will serve as a bridge to public education. In Syria, where the quality of education has declined due to the impact of the war and a “lost generation” of children who have given up on education is emerging, the donations will cover personnel costs for 13 teachers and staff members, as well as textbooks, stationery, teaching materials, and other expenses, helping to nurture the people who will lead postwar reconstruction.

Under the slogan “Making the world of water barrier-free!”, Pool Volunteer was founded in 1999 in Temmabashi, Osaka, and is Japan’s oldest sports NPO. Instead of using pools exclusively for people with disabilities, we provide one-on-one swimming instruction to a total of 3,000 people with disabilities each year at ordinary public pools. This year marks our 28th year. In 2021, we were granted an audience with Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress at the Imperial Palace. In 2025, we also received the Iwasa Award.

How Donations from the Osaka Marathon Will Be Used

■ We will create Help Mark Swim Caps, which indicate that the wearer may need consideration or assistance while swimming. Since September 2018, we have distributed them free of charge to people across Japan who request them. We have already distributed more than 4,000 caps. The production cost is 2,300 JPY per cap. ■ We will create Japan’s first domestically made pool wheelchairs, Thunderbird No. 1 and No. 2. Each wheelchair costs 300,000 to 400,000 JPY. ■ We will create Japanese-made flotation devices for people with severe physical disabilities. Each device costs 19,000 JPY.

Founded in 2004 with Japan’s first home-visit, mutual-aid sick-child childcare service, Florence operates a variety of childcare services to address issues such as child abuse, child poverty, insufficient support for families raising children with disabilities, and the isolation of parents and children. Florence also carries out welfare programs, support activities, and policy advocacy nationwide, including Florence Children's Food Outreach Program, Digital Family Social Work "OYAKO Chat," Florence Unintended Pregnancy Counseling, and Florence Baby Adoption.

The donations will be used for comprehensive support activities for single-parent families, aimed at preventing financial hardship and isolation. Specifically, Florence provides opportunities for consultation and support through the delivery of food and daily necessities, offers consultations via social media with specialists such as psychologists, and operates Adventure Bank for Children, an experiential platform run in cooperation with companies. The donations will help Florence continue to provide stable support for parents and children, from daily necessities and mental health care to creating experiential opportunities for children.

Organization Profile

HOPE International Development Agency is an international NGO that provides support in areas such as water, sanitation, education, and women’s empowerment in Asia and Africa, as a member of the HOPE Network headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. The organization was established in Nagoya following its support for the 2000 Gujarat earthquake in India, and marked its 25th year of activities last year. Guided by the principle of “supporting the self-reliance of people who have not yet been reached by assistance,” HOPE International Development Agency has provided safe water to approximately 80,000 people and carried out activities that help local communities create their own future.

How Donations from the Osaka Marathon Will Be Used

Donations received through the Osaka Marathon will be used for self-reliance support activities in Asia and Africa, including water, sanitation, education, and women’s empowerment. In Ethiopia in particular, the donations will be used to improve school sanitation environments and support menstrual hygiene management, so that girls can continue attending school with confidence. The donations will also be used for video production and other activities to communicate HOPE’s work, helping to promote understanding of international cooperation.

In particular, through maternity classes and parenting lectures in the Osaka area, the foundation will expand opportunities for reliable information from professionals and for interaction among participants, helping to reduce anxieties and feelings of isolation that can easily increase due to the rise in nuclear families and dual-income households. By making use of the knowledge and networks it has developed over more than 60 years of activities, the foundation will help build communities where people can give birth to and raise children with peace of mind.

Wagamachi Nishinari Kosodatenet is a network that supports child-rearing and children’s growth under the slogan “Raising children together, anytime and anywhere.” The network brings together nursery schools, kindergartens, children’s centers, the ward office, public facilities, private organizations, and others in Nishinari Ward, working collaboratively to create a child-friendly community with children’s lives at the very center.
