I don't know how to register for JTB Sports Station. What should I do?

Can I submit multiple entries in different entry categories?
Each person may submit only one entry. If multiple entries are submitted, they will be rejected or invalidated. (No refund will be made.)
If you are not selected, you may enter as a Charity Runner upon receiving the notification.
(However, the Charity Runner category is limited by entry period and capacity.)

I am running my first marathon, so I do not know my personal best time. What should I do?
If this is your first marathon, please enter your estimated time.
Please calculate it carefully based on your records from half marathons or other races, as well as your usual training condition.

Can I purchase Osaka Marathon Charity Merchandise even after the entry period has ended?
The Merchandise might also be sold at the Osaka Marathon EXPO venue. But as types and quantities are limited, it is recommended that the order is placed at the time of entry.

Osaka Sports Supporting Runners

What are Osaka Sports Supporting Runners?
This system grants the right to run in Osaka Marathon 2027 to the first 800 persons (400 persons from Osaka Prefecture, 400 persons from Osaka City) who donated at least 100,000 JPY to the Namihaya Sports Promotion Fund (Osaka Prefecture) or the Osaka City Sports Promotion Fund (Osaka City) within the solicitation period through the Furusato Nozei Program (a charitable donation to a municipality of one's choice), or to persons who were designated by such a donor.
*Accepting only domestic entries.

I heard that Osaka Sports Supporting Runners can transfer their right to run. Is that true?
While a donor can designate a runner, the designated runner cannot transfer the right to run.

Civic Athletes

What are civic athletes?
Entries are decided on a first-come, first-served basis for persons who have recorded a time within the standard time that is set for each age group and gender (original times set by the Osaka Marathon).

How do I submit a certificate of my time record?
After completing the entry, please upload the digital data of your race certificate from RUNNET My Page in JPEG or PDF format. The maximum file size is 10 MB. Please note that the race certificate cannot be uploaded from the MyRUNNET app. Please check the Runnet Help page for the detailed sending procedure.

Can only Osaka City residents enter as civic athletes?
Civic athletes are not limited to Osaka City.

Charity Runners

What are charity runners?
Charity runners participate for the purpose of deepening understanding of the Osaka Marathon charity activities and expanding the range of support.

What should I do to enter as a charity runner?
You can participate by paying the participation fee (145 USD) and donation (485 USD: 475 USD + 5 USD × 2 units) at the time of entry, without using fundraising.

Runners with Disabilities

What are runners with disabilities?
This entry method is available to persons who have one of the following certificates: physical disability certificate, mental disability certificate, or rehabilitation certificate. (Maximum number of participants: 50)

* Required at runner check-in. Kindly ensure you have it with you.
* If the number of applicants exceeds the capacity (50), a drawing will be held. If not selected, you will be eligible for another drawing as a general runner (no re-entry procedure required).

Drawings

I did not receive the drawing result email.
The drawing result email is sent to the registered email address.
Check that the email was not sent to your spam folder.
If the email is not in your spam folder, it could be due to the following:

(1) The email address entered when you registered for membership was incorrect.
→ Please contact us via the Inquiries Form.

(2) Your spam email filtering settings prevent the email from being delivered to your inbox.
→ If you are using spam email filtering, please change your configurations to accept email from the domains "@jtbsports.jp" and "@jtb.com". Please check with your cell phone company or provider for details on how to configure these filters.

The drawing results can be checked from My Page on JTB Sports Station for Overseas entries. For domestic entries, the results can be checked from My Page on RunNet. (Lottery result emails will not be resent.)

Runner Registration

I can't go in person for runner registration. Will registration by a proxy be accepted?
Proxy check-in is not available. Be sure to complete your registration in person.
Also, note that registration (provision of athlete bibs) will not be accepted on the day of the event.

I'm disabled and will run together with an escort runner. Do I need to complete registration together with my escort runner?
Be sure to register together with your escort runner.
Note that no registration by a proxy will be accepted, whether the registration is for you or your escort runner.

Can I have a proxy accept my participation commemorative gift?
Proxies are not accepted. The items can be sent with shipping costs borne by the recipient.

Do I need to wear a security band?
To prevent terrorism (intrusion by suspicious persons) and proxy running, we need all runners to wear a security band after our staff members confirm the runners' identities. We would appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Please continue to wear the security band until the day of the event.
Note that if it cannot be confirmed that you are wearing the band at the time of entering the starting area, you will not be allowed to run the race.

What should I do if I do not have a photo identification document issued by a Japanese public authority?
Please present your passport.

What is the station nearest to INTEX Osaka?
We recommend the following stations.
Get off at Cosmosquare Station, Osaka Metro Chuo Line (approx. a 9-minute walk from Exit 3 or 4)
Get off at Trade Center-mae Station, Osaka Metro New Tram (approx. an 8-minute walk from Exit 1)

Event Operation

Will the event take place even if it rains?
The event will take place even if it rains, but it might be canceled if it is difficult to operate the event due to a storm or other extreme weather conditions.

Where can I check whether the event will take place or not? If the event is canceled, will I be informed of it?
If the event is canceled, the cancellation will be posted on the official website or official social media channels as soon as possible after the decision has been made. Please check the official website or official social media channels in the morning (scheduled for 5:00 AM) to confirm whether the race will be held on the day of the event.

How will the waiting blocks be set up?
To relieve congestion and protect safety, a wave (corral) start will be used.
Starting blocks will be determined by the organizer based on the self-reported personal best time and estimated finish time submitted at the time of application, regardless of whether the runner is registered with the Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF). These decisions are made from the perspective of race management and safety.
Please note that starting from a block ahead of your assigned wave, you will be disqualified. Please make sure to start from your designated block.

* The personal best time must be from an official marathon event held on or after August 1, 2024, and must be either the gross time or net time. If false information is submitted, your entry may be disqualified.
* The estimated finish time should be carefully calculated based on your half marathon results or regular training performance.
* Group entries will start from the same block as the participant in the same group with the slowest personal best time and estimated time at application.
* 720 〈Naniwa〉 Marathon (Runners) shall start from Wave 3.

Will a sign language service be available at the event venue?
Volunteers who can communicate in sign language will be stationed at the general information desk of INTEX Osaka at the time of runner registration and at the general information desk of each of the start and finishing areas (Osaka Castle Park) on the day of the event.
Other staff will communicate through writing.

Will traffic restrictions be placed on dates other than the day of the event?
Traffic restrictions are planned to be placed only on the day of the event.
Details regarding traffic restrictions will be announced on the official website in early December (scheduled).

Will changing rooms be set up?
Yes. We will set up changing spaces at the venue.

Will shower rooms be set up?
No.

Will a delivery service be arranged for large baggage to be transported from the event's baggage check-in service?
No delivery service will be arranged. For large baggage, please use your hotel's baggage check-in service or use a delivery service at a convenience store.

What is the size of carry-on baggage?
For details on the size of carry-on baggage, please refer to the participation guideline notification, which will be sent by e-mail in early February.

Entry Fee and Related Topics

If I find on the day of the event that I cannot participate, will proxy running be accepted? Alternatively, will my entry fee and charity donations be refunded?
You cannot transfer your right to participate to anyone. If proxy running is discovered, you and your proxy will be disqualified.
In that case, the event organizing body will not make any compensation. Also note that even if you notify us before the event that you cannot participate, no refund will be made for any personal reason once you have made the payment to us.
Donations will also not be refunded for any reason.

If the safe operation of the race is judged to be difficult due to an earthquake, storm, flood, or any other natural disaster; the spread of an infectious disease; accident requiring a police or fire department response; etc., the race will be canceled. The amount of refund of the entry fee, etc. in the case of race cancellation will be determined after deducting the expenses incurred before the cancellation decision was made.

If I get injured while running, will the injury be covered by insurance?
The organizer will only provide first aid in the event of an accident during the race. Except in the case of gross negligence by the organizer, compensation will be within the range of the engaged accident insurance (solatium payment).

If the event is canceled, what will become of my entry fee, donations, entry right, participation prize, etc.?
The amount of refund of the entry fee, etc. in the case of race cancellation will be determined after deducting the expenses incurred before the cancellation decision was made.
For the right to participate in the next event and the shipment of the participation prize, decisions will be made according to the timing of the cancellation.
